Turning over a new leaf in healthcare
Our mission as a 501(c)3 charity and an overview of our goals as an organization.
Our Mission
The FAUNA Mental Health Foundation is named after our beary cute mascot!
We are a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide culturally relevant and inclusive open-access mental health resources for the Asian and BIPOC community.
Our main initiative is specifically tailored and responsive towards the Asian community. Much of Western therapy inadvertently has caused minority cultures to conform their needs to what society provides. At FAUNA, our mission is to meet the Asian community where they are at in order to provide effective mental health interventions, tools and resources.
We hope that acknowledging the cultural limitations of the current mental health model will not only benefit the Asian and BIPOC community, but will spearhead a movement to re-design the existing system of mental health care.
Note on Mental Health Services
Please note that FAUNA Mental Health Foundation is a resource and advocacy organization. We do not provide mental health therapy or counseling services.
If you are interested, Adora Du, founder and current board member of FAUNA does provide mental health services through her private practice at Spring Day Therapy PLLC (www.springdaytherapy.com). Spring Day Therapy PLLC is an unrelated and separate entity to FAUNA Mental Health Foundation.
